چکیده

The most important characteristic of RFID-based electronic voting system compared to traditional voting system is that votes in the electronic system are as contactless smart cards in place of paper ballots. For casting ballots, voters use a computer terminal to write their choices (their chosen candidates) into contactless smart cards and then put the smart card inside the box. The most important threat for RFIDsystems is information robbery and relay attacks. In this article, by designing a protocol called Distance Bounding Protocol it is tried to defend these systems against relay attacks.

Shedding Light on RFID Distance Bounding Protocols and Terrorist Fraud Attacks

The vast majority of RFID authentication protocols assume the proximity between readers and tags due to the limited range of the radio channel. However, in real scenarios an intruder can be located between the prover (tag) and the verifier (reader) and trick this last one into thinking that the prover is in close proximity. This attack is generally known as a relay attack in which scope distanc...

HMAC-Based Authentication Protocol: Attacks and Improvements

As a response to a growing interest in RFID systems such as Internet of Things technology along with satisfying the security of these networks, proposing secure authentication protocols are indispensable part of the system design. A Novel RFID Distance Bounding Protocol Based on Physically Unclonable Functions

Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) systems are vulnerable to relay attacks (i.e., mafia, terrorist and distance frauds) when they are used for authentication purposes. Distance bounding protocols are particularly designed as a countermeasure against these attacks. These protocols aim to ensure that the tags are in a distant area by measuring the round-trip delays during a rapid challenge-res...

An Ultra-lightweight RFID Distance Bounding Protocol

Security and privacy of RFID systems have become very important issues along with their increasing applications. Recently, Jeon and Yoon proposed a new ultra-lightweight RFID authentication protocol(RAPLT) using merge and separation operations. Since their protocol uses very lightweight bitwise operations: XOR, merge, and separation operations, it will be suitable for the applications using low...

Scalable Grouping-proof Protocol for RFID Tags

In this paper, we propose a grouping-proof protocol for RFID tags based on (n, n)-secret sharing. Our proposed protocol addresses the scalability issue of the previous protocols by removing the need for an RFID reader to relay messages from one tag to another tag. We also present a security model for a secure grouping-proof protocol which properly addresses the so called mafia fraud attack (som...
